Motor Vehicle Collision, Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack

On Sunday, August 06, 2017 at approximately 2:18 a.m. (0218 hours) the Merrimack Police Department attempted to stop a blue 2014 Toyota Camry in the area of Industrial Drive and Daniel Webster Highway. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Daniel Webster Highway without its lights on. While attempting to affect a traffic stop, the vehicle fled at an extremely high rate of speed causing the officer to lose sight of the vehicle; therefore, discontinuing. Minutes later members of the Merrimack Police Departments came across the vehicle as it had crashed in the area of 370 Daniel Webster Highway in the Town of Merrimack, NH.

As a result of this collision, the underage male operator and sole occupant of the vehicle suffered life-threatening injuries. The operator was flown to Tufts Medical Center by the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Advanced Response Team (DHART).

Assisting on scene were members of the Merrimack Police Department, New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks, Merrimack DPW, DHART Critical Care Medical Flight Crew, and Merrimack Fire & Rescue & EMS Crews.

At this time the crash investigation is being handled by the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R. Unit), with assistance from the Merrimack Police Department. Anyone that may have further information related to this collision is encouraged to; please contact Trooper First Class Michael J. Pelletier at (603) 223-8699 or by email at michael.pelletier@dos.nh.gov.
