Serious Injury Motor Vehicle Crash, NH Route 3 (Hooksett Rd), Hooksett

On Friday August 4, 2017, at approximately 1236 hours, a motor vehicle crash was reported to the Hooksett Police Department. The crash was located in the area of N.H. Route 3 (Hooksett Road) and Dale Street. Upon arrival of emergency personnel it was determined that the crash involved three vehicles and each operator had various injuries. All operators were subsequently transported to the Elliott Hospital in Manchester, NH, for medical treatment.

Based upon the on-scene investigation and statements from one of the involved, a 2007 Saab 9-3, operated by Rebecca Webster, age 69 of Candia, NH, was traveling southbound when she crossed into the northbound lanes striking a 2005 Toyota Corolla, operated by John Tousignant, age 51 of Concord, NH, in a nearly head on fashion. The Corolla subsequently struck a 2013 Toyota Rav4, operated by Mary Myers, age 61 of Deerfield, NH. Both Webster and Tousignant sustained serious bodily injuries.

Members of the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit were assisted on scene by members of the Hooksett Police Department, Hooksett Fire & Rescue & EMS, Allenstown Fire, Tri-Town Ambulance and New Hampshire Department of Transportation. NH Route 3 remained open during the investigation with traffic initially being alternated between a single lane and later both directions being allowed a single lane in an altered traffic pattern to allow for the investigation to take place.

At this time it appears that the Saab had been operating on a flat tire for an extended distance which played a role in the collision however the investigation is looking into all possible scenarios. Anyone who observed the crash or the Saab's operation prior to the collision is asked to contact Trooper First Class Bryan Plamondon at 223-8677 or via email at bryan.plamondon@dos.nh.gov.
