DWI Checkpoint, Bedford

During the hours of 9:00 p.m., Friday, July 28, 2017 through 3:00 a.m., Saturday, July 29, 2017, New Hampshire State Troopers from Troop B and Officers of the Bedford Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Route 101 in the town of Bedford.

The checkpoint was authorized by an order of the Hillsborough Superior Court and conducted under guidelines promulgated by the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.

A total of 182 vehicles and operators were screened and 4 arrests were made.

Tyler Whitney, age 24, of Weare, New Hampshire, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated and Possession of a Controlled Drug.
Amani Taher, age 37, of Tewksbury, Massachusetts, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
Robert Marchenonis, age 58, of Bedford, New Hampshire, was arrested for Driving While Intoxicated.
Alexander Morgan, age 20, of Hooksett, New Hampshire, was arrested for possession of a controlled drug.
Neil MacEvan, age 35, of Bedford, New Hampshire, was cited for open container.

The New Hampshire State Police, Colonel Christopher Wagner and the Bedford Police Chief, John Bryfonski, as well as the officers of their departments, consider the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers to be a top priority. They will continue to collaborate and utilize sobriety checkpoints and other means to deter, detect and remove impaired drivers from New Hampshire's roadways.
