Motor Vehicle Crash, Bedford

On Thursday, July 13, 2017, at approximately 11:07 A.M., Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks in Bedford, N.H., responded to a single vehicle crash on the off-ramp from Route 101 West to Route 293 North in Bedford N.H.

On arrival, Troopers found that, 24-year-old Leonard Constant of Manchester, N.H. had lost control of his 1998 blue Ford Ranger pick-up truck and rolled his vehicle off the right side of the roadway. Constant became entrapped in the vehicle and had to be extricated by personnel from the Manchester and Bedford Fire Departments. Once freed from the vehicle, Constant was transported to the Elliot Hospital for serious, but non-life threating injuries.

The two passengers in the vehicle, Chelsea Constant, age 22, and Anthony Alessio, age 27, both of Manchester, N.H. suffered serious, but non-life threatening injuries and were transported to the Elliott Hospital for treatment.

Leonard Constant was arrested and charged with Operating After Suspension, Reckless Conduct and Possession of a Controlled Drug. He was bailed and ordered to appear at the Manchester Circuit Court to answer to the above charges.

Assisting at the crash scene were members of the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, Manchester Fire Department and Bedford Fire Department. The roadway in this area was shut down for a short period of time to allow first responders safe access to the crash.
