Reckless Driving Arrest, Route 101, Raymond

At approximately 1500 hours on July 4, 2017, Sgt. Christopher Storm, of the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit was monitoring traffic from the State Police aircraft on Route 101 eastbound in the Town of Raymond. Sgt. Storm observed a vehicle traveling at an extremely high rate of speed and clocked it at 118 MPH in the posted 65MPH speed zone. Sgt. Storm radioed to Troopers on the ground. The vehicle a 2005 Volvo S40 passed by the ground trooper's location. It was subsequently stopped on Route 101 by TFC. Sean Faherty. The subject was identified as Steven Malonson, age 22, Nashua, NH.

TFC Sean Faherty made contact with Malonson. TFC Faherty charged Malonson with Reckless Operation. He is due to appear in the Candia Circuit Court to answer to this charge on October 11, 2017 at 0800.

The NH State Police Special Enforcement Unit regularly interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors. Its members patrol across the state often utilizing the State Police aircraft during commuter traffic periods and holiday travel times with the goal of keeping New Hampshire’s roadways safe for all residents and visitors.
