Serious Motor Vehicle Crash, Spaulding Turnpike, Rochester

On Saturday, June 3, 2017, at approximately 6:48 a.m., Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop-A responded to a report of a single motor vehicle crash on the Spaulding Turnpike southbound between exits 12 and 13 in Rochester. The vehicle was located off the road up against one of the support beams of the overhead traffic signs. The vehicle was described as a 2007 Kia Sorento. The operator was identified as Christy Marcoux, age 35 of Ossipee, NH. Marcoux sustained serious injuries and was flown to Portland Hospital in Portland, ME. On scene investigation showed Marcoux left the travel portion of the roadway and struck the traffic sign support beam. The causation of the crash is still under investigation. As a precaution the NH Department of Transportation was contacted to respond and check the integrity of the traffic sign support beam. The right travel lane was closed for approximately 45 minutes, traffic was not impacted.

The New Hampshire State Police were assisted at the scene by members of Rochester Fire Department, NH Department of Transportation and Life Flight of Maine.
