Man Arrested After Using His Mobile Phone at the Manchester DMV
On April 12, 2017, at approximately 10:30 a.m. Trooper First Class Richard Dupont of the New Hampshire State Police – Troop G, was at the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles, in Manchester, when his attention was drawn to a vehicle traveling through the parking lot. He observed that the male driver was talking on his mobile phone while driving through the extremely busy parking lot. TFC Dupont stopped the truck and identified the driver as Michael J. Coltey, age 50, of Merrimack, NH.
TFC Dupont learned that the operating privileges of Mr. Coltey had been suspended in 2004 for multiple motor vehicle violations.
Mr. Coltey was taken into custody without incident, for the suspended license. He was released on $5,000.00 Personal Recognizance Bail. He is scheduled to appear before the 9th Circuit Court-District Division-Manchester on May 15, 2017.
The New Hampshire State Police would like to remind everyone that it is illegal to operate a motor vehicle while using an electronic hand held device according to State of New Hampshire RSA 265:105-a.
