Man Arrested After Using False Identity at the Salem DMV
On March 31, 2017, at approximately 10:00 a.m., staff at the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles in Salem, alerted New Hampshire State Police – Troop G to the presence of a male subject, who was believed to have used fraudulent documents in an effort to obtain a New Hampshire driver license. The New Hampshire State Police were told the male identified himself as Jorge A. Bonel-Oritiz, age 42, of Salem, NH.
Troopers made contact with the male and determined he was utilizing a false identity. Troopers also discovered that he had another identity in the State of Massachusetts.
With the cooperation of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Troopers were able to identify the male as Jose Pimentel-Gonzalez, age 41, of Lawrence, MA. Furthermore, it was discovered that Pimentel-Gonzalez was a citizen of the Dominican Republic and has been in the United States for almost 13 years.
New Hampshire State Police Troopers, placed Pimentel-Gonzalez into custody at the Division of Motor Vehicles. Pimentel-Gonzalez was charged with Unsworn Falsification, Prohibitions of a Driver's License and Tampering with Public Records. He refused bail and is currently being held at the Merrimack County House of Corrections, pending his arraignment at the 6th Circuit Court– District Division – Concord on April 3, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. In addition, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement placed a detainer on Pimentel-Gonzalez for deportation proceedings.
New Hampshire State Police – Troop G were assisted by ICE Agents Anoli and Gilleo of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles and the Saugus, Massachusetts Police Department.
