On Sunday March 26, 2017 at approximately 12:31 p.m. (1231 hours) the New Hampshire State Police-Troop C, Barracks was notified and responded to a multiple motor vehicle crash located on NH Route 12 (just north of Capron Rd) in the Town of Westmoreland, New Hampshire.

Upon arrival the at-scene investigation revealed a purple 1998 Jaguar XK8 operated by Matthew Dunn, age 28 of Raymond, NH was traveling northbound on NH Route 12 and attempting to overtake several vehicles in a no passing zone. Simultaneously a silver 2012 Kia Soul was traveling southbound on NH Route 12 operated by Ellen J. Corbett, age 56 of New Ipswich, NH.

The purple 1998 Jaguar XK8 struck the silver 2012 Kia Soul in a head on fashion in the southbound travel lane. Due to the mechanics of the collision the silver 2012 Kia Soul was redirected into the northbound travel lane where it made light contact with a white 2010 Subaru Forester which had also been traveling northbound on NH Route 12 operated by Naomi L. Risch, age 32 of Winooski VT.

As a result of this collision the operator of the silver 2012 Kia Soul suffered life threatening injuries and was med-flighted to the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center from the Cheshire Medical Center. The passenger in the silver 2012 Kia Soul Meghan Coull, age 32 of New Ipswich, NH suffered non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Cheshire Medical Center. The operator of the white 2010 Subaru Forester did not suffer any injuries.

The operator of the purple 1998 Jaguar XK8 (Matthew Dunn) suffered minor injuries and was subsequently arrested for Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated. He is currently being held on $10,000.00 cash and to be arraigned at 1:00 p.m. on March 27, 2017 at the Cheshire County Superior Court.

Assisting on scene were members of the NH State Police Troop C Barracks, Westmoreland / Keene Fire & Rescue, EMS Crews, and NH DOT.

At this time the crash investigation is being handled by the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R. Unit). Anyone that may have further information related to this collision is encouraged to please contact Trooper Daniel Quartulli at (603) 223-4381 or by email at
