On February 22, 2017, at approximately 3:00 p.m., staff at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Manchester, alerted New Hampshire State Police - Troop G to the presence of a male subject, who was believed to have used fraudulent documents in an effort to obtain a New Hampshire driver license. The New Hampshire State Police were told the male was identifying himself as Angel Luis Rivera Aponte, age 55, of Manchester, NH.

When Troopers arrived, they were able to confirm that the documents he presented were fraudulent. With the cooperation of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement the Troopers were ultimately able to identify Rivera Aponte as Miguel Baez Zapata, age 57, of Lawrence, MA. Furthermore, it was discovered that Baez Zapata was a citizen of the Dominican Republic.

The New Hampshire State Police took Baez Zapata into custody at the Division of Motor Vehicles in Manchester. Baez Zapata was charged with Unsworn Falsification and Tampering with Public Records. He refused bail and is currently being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections, pending his arraignment at the 9th Circuit Court - District Division - Manchester on February 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.

The New Hampshire State Police – Troop G was assisted by members of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact TFC Dupont at (603) 223-8778.
