Drug Arrest, Interstate 95 North, Portsmouth

drugs seized during Portsmouth arrest

On February 4, 2017, at approximately 2:45 a.m., TFC Brian Gacek of the New Hampshire State Police-Troop A Barracks stopped a 2017 GMC Envoy for a speeding violation on Interstate 95 northbound in the City of Portsmouth. The driver of this vehicle was identified as Abigail Webb, age 21, of Monmouth, ME. During the course of this motor vehicle stop TFC Gacek made several observations consistent with the transportation and possession of illegal drugs. TFC Gacek asked for, and was given consent to search the vehicle. As a result of this search, TFC Gacek discovered a quantity of what is believed to be marijuana. Webb was subsequently arrested for transportation of a controlled drug. Additionally, a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Ryan Bridges, age 35, of Augusta, ME, was found to be in possession of a quantity of what is believed to be heroin, crack cocaine, MDMA (Ecstasy), and several prescription pills. He was arrested for possession of a controlled drug. A third passenger, identified as Jeremy Francis, age 27, of Groton, NY, was believed to be concealing drugs on his person. Troopers detained Francis and applied for a search warrant. The application for a search warrant was granted. Consequently, Troopers discovered a quantity of what is believed to be heroin and crack cocaine concealed within his clothing. Francis was arrested for possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute.

Webb is due to appear in the 10th Circuit Court-Portsmouth District, on April 3, 2017 for a misdemeanor level charge of transporting a controlled drug. Bridges and Francis are scheduled to be arraigned in the Rockingham County Superior Court on February 6, 2017 for felony level drug charges.
