Reckless Driving Arrest, I-93 Canterbury

At approximately 1012 hours on January 19, 2017, Trooper Scott Garton, of the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit was monitoring traffic from the State Police aircraft on I-93 southbound in the Town of Canterbury. Tr. Garton observed a vehicle traveling at an extremely high rate of speed and clocked it at 105 MPH in the posted 70MPH speed zone. Tr. Garton radioed to Troopers on the ground. The vehicle a 2005 Chevrolet 2500 Pick-up passed by the ground trooper's location. It was subsequently stopped on I-93. The Subject was identified as, Lynnwood Beveridge Age 23 Franklin, NH.

Sgt. Storm made contact with Beveridge. When asked why he was traveling at that speed. Beveridge stated that he was late to pick up a friend. Sgt. Storm charged him with Reckless Driving. Beveridge is due to appear in the Concord Circuit Court to answer to this charge on March 3, 2017 at 0800.

The NH State Police Special Enforcement Unit regularly interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors. Its members patrol across the state often utilizing the State Police aircraft during commuter traffic periods and holiday travel times with the goal of keeping New Hampshire's roadways safe for all residents and visitors.
