Death Investigation, Stark, New Hampshire

On Monday, January 16, 2017 at around 8:53a.m., the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F, took the report of a possible motor vehicle collision on Millbrook Road in the town of Stark, New Hampshire in which it was reported that a motor vehicle had been smoldering with a subject found unconscious outside the vehicle.  Emergency crews responded and located what appeared to be sedan-type vehicle that had been completely gutted by fire along with a middle-aged, male subject lying on the ground a short distance from the vehicle.  The male subject was found to be unconscious and not breathing and was pronounced deceased on scene.  His identity is being withheld until next of kin has been notified. Initial investigation suggests that the male subject did not perish in or as a result of the fire and his cause of death has not yet been determined at this time.   The investigation is on-going at this time, but there does not appear to be any foul play involved and there does not appear to be any concern for the safety of the public.

Units that assisted on scene included Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F, the State Fire Marshall’s Office, the Groveton Police Department, Groveton EMS, Stark Fire Department and the Office of the State Medical Examiner.
