Motor Vehicle Crash, Route 101 eastbound, Epping

On Wednesday December 21, 2016 at approximately 6:43 am the New Hampshire State Police responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route 101 eastbound at exit 7 in Epping. Responding troopers found the vehicle, a 1999 Ford F350 pick-up truck, was traveling eastbound and for an unknown reason left the travel portion of the roadway, veered up onto the guardrail then rolled down the embankment between Route 101 eastbound and the exit 7 eastbound on-ramp. The operator, later identified as Matthew Durkee, age 46 of Manchester, NH, was ejected from the vehicle and sustained serious but not life threatening injuries. Durkee was transported by the Epping Fire Department to the Exeter Hospital. The cause of the accident is under investigation; however there were no signs of alcohol or drug impairment.

Morning commuter traffic was not affected by the crash. The New Hampshire State Police, Troop-A were assisted by Epping Police Department, The Epping, Brentwood and East Kingston Fire Departments and NH Department of Transportation.
