Motor Vehicle Collision, Interstate 293 , Manchester

On December 20, 2016, at approximately 08:10 am, Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police Troop B Barracks in Bedford responded to a two car crash with injury that occurred on Interstate 293 southbound in the vicinity of Exit 5 in Manchester.

An accident investigation revealed that a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant, operated by Anthony Miele, age 36, of Manchester, New Hampshire was traveling northbound on Interstate 293 in the vicinity of Exit 5 when he lost control of his vehicle and crossed the center median. Miele impacted a 2007 Honda CRV that was traveling southbound in the opposite direction. The Honda CRV was operated by Samuel Winter, age 34, of Bow, New Hampshire.

Miele was ejected from his vehicle and sustained serious injuries. He was treated at the scene by personnel with the Manchester Fire Department and transported to CMC Hospital.

Winter sustained minor injuries and was transported to the Elliott Hospital for treatment. Both vehicles suffered heavy front end impact damage and were towed from the scene.

Manchester Fire Department, Manchester Police Department, and the NH Department of Transportation all assisted at the scene of the crash. Interstate 293 southbound was shut down for a short period of time during the accident investigation.
