At approximately 10:13 pm, New Hampshire State Police received information that the Antrim Police were in pursuit of a pickup truck with Maine Registration that fled a traffic stop. The Antrim Police initially stopped the vehicle for speeding on Route 9 in the Town of Antrim, in which the vehicle fled the traffic stop, traveling west on Route 9 and then onto 202/9 towards Interstate 89.

Antrim Police requested State Police assistance as the vehicle traveled west on Route 202/9 at speeds in excess of 100mph. Antrim Police maintained control of the pursuit as Troopers joined in and assisted as it entered Interstate 89 southbound from exit #5. The vehicle continued southbound and was operating recklessly, passing vehicles in the right breakdown lane at over 100mph.

Antrim Police and Troopers followed the vehicle as it attempted to exit the Interstate at Exit #2. The vehicle, identified as a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado Pickup Gray in color Maine Registration, lost control, striking 2 delineator posts and the guardrail, coming to rest in the snow off the right side of the roadway. The male operator then fled on foot into the woods. A perimeter was established and Troopers, assisted by the Bow Police Department K9, initiated a track, locating the operator a short distance later in a wooded area. The male operator, identified as Young, Joshua, Age: 32 Garland, ME, was arrested and charged with the following crimes:

Antrim Police Department: Reckless Operation (Violation), Disobeying a Police Officer (Misdemeanor), Driving After Suspension (Misdemeanor)

New Hampshire State Police: Reckless Conduct (Felony), Disobeying a Police Officer (Misdemeanor), Driving After Suspension (Misdemeanor), Conduct After an Accident (Misdemeanor), Aggravated Driving Under the Influence (Misdemeanor)

Young was held on $10,00 cash for the Antrim Police charges, $10,000 cash on the State Police charges and was transported to the Hillsborough County Jail to be arraigned on December 20, 2016 in the Hillsborough and Concord District Courts.
