On November 8th, 2016, Tr. Alexander Davis of the New Hampshire State Police, Troop A barracks, was on routine patrol on Interstate 95 in North Hampton when he clocked a 2006 Lexus GS sedan traveling southbound at rate of 90 MPH in a 65 MPH zone. The driver of the vehicle was identified as Nicholas Leone, age 27, of Worchester, MA. Upon making contact with Mr. Leone, Tr. Davis detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from within the interior of the vehicle. Upon questioning, Mr. Leone admitted to being in possession of a quantity of marijuana, which he produced for Tr. Davis. Mr. Leone was taken into custody, and a tow truck was called to remove his vehicle from the highway. While performing an inventory of the contents of the vehicle, Tr. Davis observed more marijuana in plain view in a duffle bag located in the trunk of the vehicle. Tr. Davis immediately halted the inventory and seized the vehicle to obtain a search warrant. Upon obtaining a search warrant to further search the vehicle, Tr. Davis recovered approximately seven more pounds of marijuana, packaging material, and $31,262 in United States currency. The estimated street value of the seized marijuana is approximately $21,000.00.

Mr. Leone will be charged with Possession of a Controlled Drug, Transportation of a Controlled Drug, and Possession of a Controlled Drug with the Intent to Distribute in the 10th Circuit Court, District Division - Seabrook on January 12, 2017.
