Motor Vehicle Accident, Route 286, Seabrook

On Thursday, November 3rd at approximately 7:48 a.m., Troopers assigned to the New Hampshire State Police Troop A barracks were requested by the Seabrook Police Department to respond to a two vehicle motor vehicle accident on Route 286 in Seabrook.

Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2004 Ford Ranger, a Lebanon, NH Department of Public Works pick-up truck, being driven by Christopher Ciardelli, age 52 of Lebanon, NH was traveling westbound on Route 286 when he attempted a left turn onto South Main Street. The second vehicle, a 2013 Ford Expedition, a fully marked Seabrook Police cruiser, being driven by Officer Justin Murphy, age 32, was traveling eastbound. He was unable to avoid the pick-up truck and the vehicles collided. The collision caused both vehicles to travel off the roadway, onto the right side embankment.

Mr. Ciardelli did not sustain any injuries. Officer Murphy was transported to a local hospital where he was treated and released for minor injuries.

Assisting the New Hampshire State Police at the scene was members of the Seabrook Police and Fire Departments as well as the Seabrook Public Works Department.
