Escape – Coos County Jail

On 3 November 2016 the New Hampshire State Police Troop F received a report from the Coos County Jail, located in the town of Stewartstown, that the following individual walked away from the facility.

Brendan Bernier was last seen near the recycling center in Stewartstown at approximately 8:30 am. The New Hampshire State Police Troopers, State Police K-9 unit, United States Border Patrol, and the Colebrook Police Department are checking the immediate area.

Bernier has ties to the Berlin, Gorham and Bethlehem areas in New Hampshire and may have contacts in St. Johnsbury, VT.

Bernier had been serving a sentence related to driving a motor vehicle after being deemed an Habitual Offender. He has burn scars on his forehead and left side of his face.

Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the NH State Police Troop F (603) 846-3333.

Update - Subject Located

Prisoner who walked away from the Coos County House of Corrections on November 3, 2016, in Stewartstown, NH has turned himself in to the Lyndonville, VT Police Department. Brendan Bernier turned himself in on November 4, 2016 and is currently being held at the Northeast Regional Correctional Facility waiting an extradition hearing.
