On October 28, 2016 at approximately 8:14 a.m., the New Hampshire Police responded to a crash involving tractor trailer and a small passenger vehicle on I-93 northbound in Bow. The tractor trailer jackknifed, which caused it to leak large amounts of diesel fuel onto the roadway near the I-89 junction.

It had been traveling northbound on I-93 at the time of the crash when it encountered congested traffic. Briere could not slow his vehicle accordingly and struck a Toyota Rav 4 in front of him, which was occupied by a family of three. No injuries were reported.

There lanes on the northbound side of the highway were shut down for over three hours. Traffic was allowed to pass by slowly in the breakdown lane during cleanup, which was supervised by the Department of Environmental Services.

Briere was issued a summons for Following Too Closely.
