Women in Policing Leadership Conference

Six New England State Police agencies, including New Hampshire State Police, have collaborated over the past several months to design a two day training conference promoting leadership and professionalism among women who serve in the field of policing. The focus is on education, training, mentoring and support. More than 150 women troopers from across New England will attend.

The training conference is being held at the Massachusetts State Police Academy in New Braintree, Massachusetts on 10/20/16 through 10/21/16. Presentations will be covering a range of professional and personal topics to include: Leadership/Followership, leadership during crisis, suicide prevention and awareness, interview and interrogation strategies, health and wellness, and balancing home-work life.

A panel discussion with esteemed leaders from New England will be featured during this two day event. Panelists include Vermont Supreme Court Justice Marilyn Skoglund; Captain Ann C. Assumpico, Director of Training, Rhode Island State Police; Lieutenant Regina Rush-Kittle, Millbury Mass. Police Department (She is also a retired Major, Connecticut State Police); Lieutenant Commander Rachel A. Stutt, United States Coast Guard, Boston, MA. The panel will be moderated by Ret. Colonel Marian McGovern, the first woman appointed colonel of the Massachusetts State Police.

Colonels from each of the New England State Police Agencies will begin the event with opening remarks at 0830 hours on 10/20/2016.
