Helicopter Crash, Rivers Edge Road, Andover

On. Sept. 20 at approximately 3:54 a.m., the New Hampshire State Police along with the Andover Police, Fire and EMS responded to a wooded area near 15 Rivers Edge Road, Andover, NH for the report of a Helicopter that crashed and was on fire.

Arriving police and fire personnel located the aircraft operator and lone occupant of the helicopter who was able to exit the aircraft under his own power and call for assistance. The aircraft was on fire and extinguished shortly after by fire personnel. The operator was transported to the Concord Hospital by ambulance with what was described as non-life threatening injuries. State Troopers and the Andover Police Secured the scene. The incident is currently still under investigation by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) and NH Division of Aeronautics who is being assisted by the NH State Police and Andover Police Departments.
