Serious Bodily Injury Crash, Madison

On Thursday, September 22, 2016, at approximately 2:30 p.m., Troopers from the New Hampshire State Police, Troop E barracks in Tamworth responded to a report of a single motor vehicle crash on Route 16 in Madison.

Upon arrival, it was discovered that the male operator, and sole occupant within the vehicle, had been traveling south when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree off the southbound shoulder. The male operator suffered serious injuries and had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was transported from the scene to Memorial Hospital in North Conway, where he was soon transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine via a medical flight.

The identity of this gentleman is being withheld at this time due to the nature of his injuries and pending the notification of his family.

The Madison Police Department, the Carroll County Sheriff's Department, the Madison Fire/Rescue Department and the Conway Fire/Rescue Department responded to the scene as well.
