Motor Vehicle Incident / K9 Track

At approximately 3:15pm on Wednesday September 21, 2016, Pr. Trooper Wong-Wagner of the NH State Police Troop B Barracks attempted to pull over a Black Audi A6 on Interstate 93 North in Salem, NH for multiple inspection violations. The vehicle came to a slow stop on the area of Exit 1. As Pr. Trooper Wong-Wagner approached the vehicle, which contained two male subjects, the operator drove away at a high rate of speed. Pr. Trooper Wong-Wagner observed the vehicle traveling North at a very high rate of speed passing other motorist in the high speed shoulder, cutting in and out of traffic and felt it was too dangerous to pursue. Pr. Trooper Wong-Wagner provided a vehicle and occupant description to NH State Police Dispatch too alert other Troopers in the area. A second NH State Trooper working a construction detail in the area of exit 3 in Windham observed the Black Audi approaching his location. The Trooper advised dispatch that it appeared the Black Audi was traveling at speeds exceeding 100 mph , and he would not be able to catch up to it, and was quickly losing sight of it as it continued Northbound. NH State Police Dispatch notified the Derry and Londonderry Police Departments of the incident. Shortly after that, a Londonderry Motorcycle officer spotted the Black Audi traveling east on Route 102. The officer reversed direction to stop the Black Audi and it again took off at a very high rate of speed. Officers from Derry and Londonderry saturated the area. The Black Audi was seen driving at high speeds down several side streets in Derry. With the assistance of residents from the area, law enforcement learned the Black Audi eventually came to a stop on Birch St in Derry. Both male subjects were observed exiting the Black Audi and fleeing the area on foot. Trooper Powers of NH State Police, Troop A, and his K9 Partner RAM, responded to the scene. Tr. Powers and Pr. Trooper Wong-Wagner began a track from the area where the male subjects were last seen. After approximately 30 minutes, Trooper Powers and his K9 RAM located both male subjects hiding behind a tree, in the rear of a residence on Fenway Street in Derry. Both subjects were taken into custody without incident. The operator was identified as Juan Ayala, Age 23, Lawrence , MA.

Ayala was charged with Disobeying a Police Officer, Reckless Operation, Operating Without a License, and Misuse of Plates.

The passenger, identified as Eycen Candelario, age 19, Lawrence MA ,Was charged with Resisting Detention/Arrest.

Both subjects were release on Bail with a November 10th court date.
