Sobriety Checkpoint, Route 4, Chichester

On Saturday, Aug. 20 the New Hampshire State Police, Troop D conducted a Safety and Sobriety Checkpoint on Route 4 in Chichester. State Troopers, with the assistance of NH Liquor Enforcement, screened approximately 328 vehicles which resulted in 5 arrests, to include 3 for DUI. Additionally, one motorist was charged with Open Container and another with Operating After Suspension.

Persons charged include: Kristina McCullough, 22, of Chichester, Open Container; Zachary Therrien, 16, of Laconia, Operating After Suspension; Jane M. Dale, 47, of Northwood, DUI-subsequent offense; Seth J. McNamara, 26, of Sanford, ME, DUI; Jane E. Debo, 57, of Canton, MA, DUI; Christopher Ketcham, 20, of Bow, Minor in Possession of Alcohol; Sam Long, 20, of Manchester, Minor in Possession of Alcohol, Reckless Operation and Open Container.

The New Hampshire State Police is committed to taking an aggressive stance in utilizing Safety and Sobriety Checkpoints as a tool to deter, detect and apprehend persons while driving when intoxicated. New Hampshire has some of the most aggressive laws in the country to fight the intoxicated driver, and we are dedicated to using those tools to their full extent to make sure our citizens and visitors are safe when operating their vehicles on our roadways.
