Sobriety Checkpoint, Sunapee

During the hours of 9:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 through 3:00 a.m. Sunday, July 31, 2016 New Hampshire State Troopers from Troop C in Keene and officers of the Sunapee Police Department conducted a sobriety checkpoint on Route 11 in the town of Sunapee.

The checkpoint was authorized by an order of the Sullivan County Superior Court and conducted under guidelines promulgated by the New Hampshire Attorney General's Office.

A total of 187 vehicles and operators were screened and 2 arrests were made.

Joshua Maurais age 24 of Litchfield, New Hampshire, Driving While Intoxicated.
Jackson Glunt age 27 of Woodbridge, Connecticut, Open Container.

The New Hampshire State Police, Colonel Robert Quinn and the Sunapee Police Chief David Cahill as well as the officers of their departments consider the detection and apprehension of impaired drivers to be a top priority. They will continue to collaborate and utilize sobriety checkpoints and other means to deter, detect and remove impaired drivers from New Hampshire's roadways.
