At approximately 10:40AM on June 11, 2016, Trooper First Class Stan Dombrowski of the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit was monitoring traffic from the State Police aircraft on I-93 northbound in the town of New Hampton. TFC. Dombrowski observed a vehicle traveling at an extremely high rate of speed and clocked it at 110 MPH in the posted 70 MPH speed zone. TFC. Dombrowski radioed to Trooper Lori Terhune, who was able to stop the vehicle. The operator and vehicle were identified as Henry Emmet, Age 61, Groton, MA, 2013 Audi S8.

TR. Terhune placed Emmet under arrest for Reckless Driving. Emmet is due to appear in the Laconia Circuit Court to answer to this charge on July 28, 2016 at 8:30AM.

During the course of this particular enforcement effort, with the additional assistance of Trooper First Class Sean Faherty of the Special Enforcement Unit, Trooper First Class Richard Shute of Troop F and Sergeant Victor Muzzey of Troop F, a total of 65 motor vehicles were stopped for speeding offenses. Three of those vehicles were traveling over 90 MPH. Additionally, three separate operators were also cited for an inspection violation, Operating After Suspension/Revocation and Use of Mobile Electronic Device while Driving.

The NH State Police Special Enforcement Unit regularly interdicts elevated speed violations and other aggressive driving behaviors. Its members patrol across the state often utilizing the State Police aircraft during commuter traffic periods and holiday travel times with the goal of keeping New Hampshire's roadways safe for all residents and visitors.
