Burglary/Stolen Firearms, Groveton/Berlin

On Tuesday April 19, 2016, the NH State Police, in conjunction with the Northumberland Police Department, began an investigation for a burglary that occurred in the town of Northumberland. Initial investigation revealed the suspect(s) forced their way into the residence. The victim reported 5 firearms and a safe, which had his passport, jewelry and money, had been stolen. The firearms included several rifles, a shotgun and a .22 caliber pistol.

After several days of investigation, suspects were identified and other information on the burglary was revealed. On Friday, April 22, 2016, Troopers from the NH State Police- Troop F, assisted by the Berlin Police Department, executed a search warrant at 370 Champlain Street in the city of Berlin. While serving the search warrant, several items taken during the burglary were located. State Police found 4 firearms as well as the safe taken from the home. Drugs and drug paraphernalia, not related to the burglary were also found, including marijuana, prescription pills and a needle. A hammer, believed to be used during the burglary was also seized.

At this time Troopers are continuing their investigation and no arrests have been made.
