Motor Vehicle Fatality, NH Route 130, Brookline

On Sunday April 17, 2016 at approximately 3:39 p.m. (1539 hours) the Brookline Police Department was notified of a motor vehicle crash located at the intersection of NH Route 130 (Pepperell Road) and Cross Road in the Town line of Brookline, New Hampshire which involved multiple vehicles.

Upon arrival the investigation revealed a black 1999 Ford Ranger being operated by Steven TAYLOR of Leominster, Massachusetts, age 18 was traveling westbound on NH Route 130 approaching the intersection of Cross Road.

Simultaneously a red 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by Glenn ANNIS of Hudson, New Hampshire, age 65 and a black 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle traveling just behind him being operated by Steven Thomas of Merrimack, New Hampshire, age 55 were both traveling eastbound on NH Route 130 approaching the area of Cross Road.

For unknown reasons at this time the operator of the black 1999 Ford Ranger failed to yield the right of way while attempting to make a left hand turn onto Cross Road. As a result of this the black 1999 Ford Ranger struck the red 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by Glenn Annis. After striking the red 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle the black 1999 Ford Ranger sideswiped a gray 2008 Toyota Yaris being operated by Wende Brown of Ashburnham, Massachusetts which was stopped at the stop sign at the intersection of Cross Road and NH Route 130 (facing easterly). The operator of the black 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle made an aggressive maneuver and laid his motorcycle down avoiding the collision.

The operator of the red 1995 Harley Davidson motorcycle Glenn ANNIS suffered massive trauma and was transported by ground to an area hospital where he later succumbed to those injuries.

Both Steven Taylor, the operator of the black 1999 Ford Ranger, and the operator of the gray 2008 Toyota Yaris, Wende Brown, did not suffer any injuries while the operator of the black 2010 Harley Davidson motorcycle, Steven Thoma, was treated and released at the scene for minor injuries.

Assisting on scene were members of the Brookline Police Department, NH State Police Troop B Barracks, Brookline Fire & Rescue, and EMS Crews.

At this time the crash investigation is being handled by the State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Unit (C.A.R. Unit) with assistance from the Brookline Police Department. Anyone that may have further information related to this crash please contact Trooper First Class Michael J. Pelletier (603) 223-8699 or preferably by email at michael.pelletier@dos.nh.gov.
