Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

On March 26, 2016 at approximately 2:38 p.m., the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F took the report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a vehicle in the area of 126 North Road in the town of Shelburne. Troopers along with Fire personnel responded to the scene and found that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian in front of 126 North Road. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2008 Chevrolet Impala, being operated by an Ann St. Onge, age 36, of Shelburne, New Hampshire was backing out of the driveway at 126 North Road and struck, Doreen Kukene, age 65, of Shelburne, New Hampshire, a pedestrian walking along the roadway. Kukene suffered serious, life-threatening injuries and was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin, New Hampshire where she was treated for her injuries and subsequently succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced deceased.

At the request of the initial responding units, the New Hampshire State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction, (C.A.R.) Unit responded to the scene. The Collision Analysis and Reconstruction, (C.A.R.) Unit was assisted on scene by members of the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F, Gorham EMS/Fire Department and the Shelburne Fire Department/Fast Squad.

It does not appear that drug or alcohol impairment was a factor in this crash, however all aspects remain under investigation.
