Motor Vehicle Accident

On Saturday, February 20, 2016, at approximately 2130 hours, at the request of the Seabrook Police Department, troopers assigned to the New Hampshire State Police Troop A barracks responded to a report of a motor vehicle rollover accident on Washington Street at the intersection of Walton Road.

Preliminary investigation revealed that Unit #1, a 2012 Chevy Equinox, being operated by Marcia Preston, age 22, of Seabrook, New Hampshire, was driving northbound at a high rate of speed on Washington Street when she failed to negotiate a turn in the road. Ms. Preston subsequently struck a stone monument and flagpole, causing the vehicle to roll over. Ms. Preston, and her passenger, Oleksandra Slobodian, age 20, of Hampton, were both transported via ambulance to the Exeter Hospital, where they were treated for minor injuries.

Ms. Preston was ultimately placed under arrest, and she was charged with DWI. She is scheduled to be arraigned on March 10, 2016, in the 10th Circuit Court, District Division-Seabrook at 0800 hours.

The New Hampshire State Police were assisted at the scene by members of the Seabrook Police Department and the Seabrook Fire Department.

Although alcohol and speed appear to have been factors in the causation of this crash, this incident remains under investigation. Anyone with information pertaining to this incident is asked to contact Trooper Brian Gacek, New Hampshire State Police, Troop-A, at (603)223-8490.
