Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision

On January 23, 2016 at around 5:46p.m., the Lincoln Police Department responded to the report of a pedestrian that had been struck by a motor vehicle along Main Street, (Route 112), in the town of Lincoln, New Hampshire. Preliminary on-scene investigation revealed that a 2010 Dodge Challenger being operated by, Paul F. Larkin, III, age 28, of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, had been traveling westbound on Main Street when his vehicle struck a pedestrian also walking westbound along the westbound side of the roadway. The pedestrian, identified as, Paul A. Gelinas, age 57, of Lunenburg, Massachusetts, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Speare Memorial Hospital in Plymouth, New Hampshire where he succumbed to those injuries and was pronounced dead. Larkin was taken into custody for the offense of Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated and will need to appear before the 2nd Circuit-District Division-Plymouth Court on February 25, 2016 to answer to the charge.

Units assisting the Lincoln Police Department at the scene included personnel from the New Hampshire State Police-Troop F, New Hampshire State Police-Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit, Lincoln Fire Rescue and Lin-Wood Ambulance Service.
