On January 17, 2016, at approximately 11:40a.m., Troopers assigned to the New Hampshire State Police Special Enforcement Unit along with Troopers assigned to Troop F, were conducting a speed enforcement detail along Interstate 93 Northbound in the town of New Hampton near the Ashland town line utilizing aircraft to monitor vehicle speeds. At that time, Trooper Scott Garton of the Special Enforcement Unit, observed a vehicle from the aircraft that appeared to be traveling at an extremely high rate of speed. Trooper Garton was initially able to clock the vehicle traveling at 100 miles per hour and received a second reading of 102 miles per hour. Trooper Garton radioed to Sergeant Victor Muzzey of Troop F, who was on the ground and was able to get the vehicle stopped. The speed limit in this area is 70 MPH. The driver was identified as Kaila M. Yallum, Age 20, Glenshaw, Pennsylvania.

Yallum was traveling with two other subjects in her vehicle, described as a 2011 Chrysler Sedan. Yallum was subsequently arrested and released on a summons to appear before the 4th Circuit-District Division Court on February 25, 2016 to answer to the charge of Reckless Operation.
