State Police Director Colonel Robert Quinn announces the enforcement efforts of State Troopers during the recent C.A.R.E. Life Saver Weekend. The State Police regrets to announce that there was one fatal motor vehicle crash but wants to thank all those who travelled safely and courteously.
Beginning Friday May 23, 2014 through Monday May 26, 2014, State Troopers maintained a highly visible presence throughout the state to assure safe holiday travel, making a total of 4051 vehicle stops, which included 904 citations for speeding and 2308 warnings. There were also 245 citations issued for hazardous violations and 43 for Driving after Suspension. Additionally, 115 other criminal arrests were made during this time period.
Highly trained State Troopers were also assigned throughout the state to detect and apprehend impaired drivers. As a result of their enforcement efforts, there were a total of 26 DWI arrests made.
Several erratic and impaired operators were identified and apprehended as a result of phone calls by responsible citizens reporting unsafe and erratic operation. The men and women of the State Police appreciate the public’s assistance in removing impaired drivers from our roadways.
The New Hampshire Division of State Police is committed to ensuring safe travel throughout the state and will continue efforts to reduce traffic collisions in the upcoming summer season.
