NIMS Update:
Grantees receiving HSGP funding are required to implement the National Incident Management System (NIMS). The NIMS uses a systematic approach to integrate the best existing processes and methods into a unified national framework for incident management. Incident management refers to how incidents are managed across all homeland security activities, including prevention, protection, and response, mitigation, and recovery. Grantees must utilize standardized resource management concepts such as typing, inventorying, organizing, and tracking resources that facilitates the identification, dispatch, deployment, and recovery of their resources. Homeland Security Grant applicants must attach a NIMS certification letter of compliance Adobe Acrobat Reader Symbol.
