RSA 153:14 was modified by the state legislature during its 2008 session to include a requirement for every fire chief to inspect each of their private and public schools within their jurisdiction once per year.

The Bureau of Building Safety and Construction has developed a training program and an online reporting system to facilitate this program.

Annual School Inspection Requirements
The annual school inspection reporting program has been updated to reflect the current code edition and has undergone additional enhancements to increase inspectional clarity for the local fire chief and/or inspector.
