Mechanical Safety & Licensing
The Mechanical Safety & Licensing Section operates five programs to
increase public safety to the residents and vistors of the state. The programs are centered around the compliance with
nationally accepted codes relative to mechanical systems, plumbing systems,
heating systems and fire protection equipment.
Modular Building Program
Modular manufacturers are approved by the State Fire Marshal’s Office. The
manufacturer must also have an approved third party inspection agency. The third
party inspection agency has architects and engineers on staff to review and
approve construction plans, as well as inspectors who perform in process
inspections of each unit. The State Fire Marshal’s Office audits the third party
inspection agencies and manufacturers on an on-going basis in an attempt to
assure product quality and code compliance.
Tramway & Amusement Ride Safety
The Tramway and Amusement Ride Safety section is administratively attached to the Division of Fire Safety. This section was established to oversee the safe and
enjoyable use of the State's ski industry resources. Additionally, it ensures
compliance with safety regulations for the carnival and amusement ride operators
in New Hampshire.
