Important Information Regarding DMV Transactions:

The DMV has implemented changes to ensure the health of customers and staff during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

DMV transactions are only being processed through our drop box and online services, through the mail or by appointment.

Please visit our Appointments and Services page for directions on completing your specific transaction.

Other important information:

  • In-person driver license appointments are currently only available for licenses that are expired or are expiring by March 31, 2021. Customers are encouraged to renew online, if eligible.
  • REAL ID compliance deadline has been extended until October, 2021. REAL ID transactions are not currently conducted outside of renewal transactions.
  • All motor vehicle related hearings will be held by video or phone conference. Please email to provide an email and phone number to facilitate scheduling.

New Motor Vehicle Arbitration Board to hold hearing

January 12, 2021 - The New Motor Vehicle Arbitration Board will be holding a hearing via video conference on January 26, 2021.

NH DMV Expands Appointment-Based Services to Three Addtional Locations

May 7, 2020 - The New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announces the expansion of appointment-based services to three additional locations. Starting Monday, May 11, Salem, Nashua, and Keene will open for appointment only services, in addition to Concord, Dover, Manchester, Newport, and Twin Mountain.

NH DMV Extends Expiration Date of Previously Issued 20-Day Plates

April 23, 2020 - The New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has extended the expiration date of previously issued 20-day plates through May 31, 2020.
