The DMV has implemented the following changes to ensure the health of customers and staff during the COVID-19 Pandemic:

The following DMV locations are open by appointment only: Concord, Dover, Keene, Manchester, Nashua, Newport, Salem, and Twin Mountain. Call 227-4000 to schedule an appointment.

Drop box services are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4:15 p.m. at the following locations: Concord, Dover, Epping, Gorham, Keene, Manchester, Milford, Nashua, Newport, Salem, Tamworth, and Twin Mountain. You may view our Drop Box page for a list of transactions that may be completed through drop box.

  • For licenses that are expired or are expiring by September 30, 2020, in-person driver license renewal appointments are available. Call 227-4000 to schedule an appointment. Customers are encouraged to renew online if eligible.
  • REAL ID compliance deadline has been extended until October, 2021. REAL ID transactions are not currently conducted outside of renewal transactions.
  • Residents with 20-day plates must reach out to their local city or town clerk’s office for permanent vehicle registration options prior to the expiration date.
  • All Motor Vehicle related hearings will be held by video or phone conference. Please email safety-hearings@dos.nh.gov to provide an email and phone number to facilitate scheduling.

NH DMV Expands Appointment-Based Services to Three Addtional Locations

May 7, 2020 - The New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) announces the expansion of appointment-based services to three additional locations. Starting Monday, May 11, Salem, Nashua, and Keene will open for appointment only services, in addition to Concord, Dover, Manchester, Newport, and Twin Mountain.

NH DMV Extends Expiration Date of Previously Issued 20-Day Plates

April 23, 2020 - The New Hampshire Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has extended the expiration date of previously issued 20-day plates through May 31, 2020.
