DMV Drop Box

A DMV Drop Box may be used for the following transactions:

Driver Licensing Transactions

Non Driver ID Renewals

If you are not eligible to renew online, please include the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations, and your new Non Driver Identification card will be mailed to your current address:

Duplicate Driver License/ Non Driver ID/Commercial Driver License

If you have lost or misplaced your Driver License or Non Driver ID, please include the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations, and your duplicate Driver License or Non Driver Identification card will be mailed to your current address:

If you have lost or misplaced your Commercial Driver License, please include the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations, and your duplicate Commercial Driver License will be mailed to your current address:

Motorcycle License Endorsement

If you have completed a motorcycle rider training course, please include the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations, and your updated Driver License with your motorcycle endorsement will be mailed to your current address:

CDL Medical Card update

If you have a new CDL Medical Card that needs to be entered or updated, please include the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

Address changes

If you have changed your address, please include the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

  • Completed and signed Record Change Request Adobe Acrobat Reader Symbol(DSMV 30)
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID
  • If you wish to get a new Driver License or Non Driver ID with the new address listed, please include a $3.00 fee (made payable to "State of NH-DMV").  If you only want your address changed in the DMV system, you do not need to include the fee.

Registration Transactions

Registration Renewal

To use the DMV Drop Box for this type of transaction, you must contact or visit the Town/City Clerk where you reside.  Please submit the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

  • Completed Town/City portion of the registration renewal.
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID
  • State portion of your registration fee, or a telephone number where you may be reached to take a credit card payment

Temporary Plates

New Hampshire Residents:  A 20-day temporary plate is available for all vehicles purchased through a private sale, or purchased from an out of state dealer that does not offer temporary plates upon purchase.  Please include the following information in an envelope and place it in one of our Drop Box locations:

  • A photocopy of the front and back of the Title signed by the seller and buyer; or a photocopy of the Bill of Sale.  The Bill of Sale must include the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), the date of the sale, the Description of Vehicle (Year, Make, Model, Color, # Cylinders and Body style), Signatures and Addresses of both the buyer(s) AND seller(s).
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID
  • $10.00 fee (made payable to "State of NH-DMV")

Out of State Residents: You may be eligible for an In-Transit temporary plate for a vehicle purchased in New Hampshire through a private sale.  Please call 603-227-4030 for more information.

Boat Registrations

Renewal registration:  Boat owners must submit the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

  • Signed renewal notice OR a copy of last year's registration, or you may submit a Boat Registration Application Adobe Acrobat Reader Symbol(RDMV 612)
  • Telephone number where you may be reached to take a credit card payment
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID

New registration:  Boat owners must submit the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

  • Bill of sale, which must include the, the date of the sale, the Description of boat, Signatures and Addresses of both the buyer(s) AND seller(s).
  • Boat Registration Application Adobe Acrobat Reader Symbol(RDMV 612)
  • Telephone number where you may be reached to take a credit card payment
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID

Walking Disability Placards

Please submit the following information in an envelope and place it in one of the Drop Box locations:

Duplicate Registration

  • A completed Application for a Duplicate RegistrationAdobe Acrobat Reader Symbol (RDMV 110)
  • Photocopy of current Driver License or Non Driver ID
  • $15.00 fee (made payable to "State of NH-DMV")

  • Application for Motor Vehicle Records Adobe Acrobat Reader Symbol(DSMV 505)
  • $5 minimum Each additional page over 5 pages $1 each, or a telephone number where you may be reached to take a credit card payment

Responding to a ticket

Please submit the following information in an envelope and place it in the Concord Drop Box ONLY:

  • Signed ticket with plea indicated
  • Appropriate fee as indicated on ticket (made payable to "State of NH-DMV")

Restoration Fee

Please submit the following information in an envelope and place it in the Concord Drop Box ONLY:

  • Note indicating what payment is for, and include name and date of birth
  • Appropriate fee depending on what type of restoration fee is being made (made payable to "State of NH-DMV")

Drop Box Locations

Drop Boxes are available at the following locations Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:15 pm: Concord, Manchester, Dover, Newport, Nashua, Salem, Keene, Twin Mountain, Milford, Tamworth, Gorham, Epping

Drop Box General Instructions

When submitting paperwork through the Drop Box all items must contain the following information:

  • First and last name
  • Telephone number
  • Email address (optional)

If requested, you will be contacted when your paperwork is being processed, and if payment was not included, a credit card payment will be required at the time of the call. Transactions will be processed within 24-72 business hours. Unless otherwise noted, the documents will be mailed to you.

  • The DMV is not responsible for any items left after hours
  • Any items left after 4:15 pm will be considered received the next business day
  • Do not leave cash or credit card information
