Planning Programs

The Planning Division of the Office of Strategic Initiatives offers several programs related to state and local land use.

Conservation Land Stewardship Program

The Conservation Land Stewardship Program is responsible for monitoring and protecting the conservation values of conservation easement lands in which the State of New Hampshire has invested.

Council on Resources and Development

The Council on Resources and Development provides a forum for interagency cooperation in assuring consistency with established policies relating to the environment, natural resources, and growth management issues under RSA 162-C. CORD is also responsible for resolving interagency conflicts in the implementation of the state's tourism policy, for oversight of the statewide public boat access program, and for reviewing the disposal of state owned real property.

Floodplain Management Program

The Floodplain Management Program administers the National Flood Insurance Program in New Hampshire and provides technical assistance to communities and the public on floodplain management and helps to promote sound land use planning techniques that will reduce flood losses.
