Community and Economic Development Planner pdf file

The North Country Council Regional Planning Commission and Economic Development District is looking to fill the position of Community & Economic Development Planner. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community & Economic Development Planner will provide professional, technical and administrative support the Council’s community development work program. The Planner filling this position will be responsible for research, development, and implementation of plans, studies and recommendations pertaining to areas economic and community development, land use planning, comprehensive planning and environmental issues. Planner filing this position will conduct data research and analysis, prepare reports, and work with municipalities, businesses, non-profits, committees, State and federal agencies. The Community & Economic Development Planner will assist with the development of scopes of work for projects, grant applications and provide technical and grant administration services. The responsibilities of the position will vary with the program or project on which the planner is working and will require the individual work collaboratively with others while balancing multiple projects and priorities.

The North Country Council Regional Planning Commission and Economic Development District is looking to fill the position of Associate Transportation Planner. This position is full-time with benefits. The Council’s offices are located in bustling downtown Littleton, located a short drive from Franconia Notch State Park, multiple ski resorts, and unlimited White Mountains adventures. North Country Council provides assistance to over 50 communities in the northern third of New Hampshire in the areas of community, environmental, and transportation planning and economic development. The North Country Council is seeking interns for temporary positions for the upcoming summer fieldwork season. This position will provide the qualified candidate with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in environmental planning, transportation planning, and data collection, as well as support local, regional, statewide planning projects and initiatives. This position will primarily involve outdoor fieldwork with some office-based work at our office in the vibrant mountain town of Littleton, NH. The successful applicant will have the ability to work as a part of a team of professionals, follow directions, complete tasks on time, and interact with the public in a professional manner. Fieldwork is a primary component of this position, and the applicant must be comfortable working as part of a two person field team in rural outdoor environments under a variety of weather conditions.

The Milford, N.H. Community Development Department is seeking an Engineering Intern for a period up to 90 days to assist the Town with a wide variety of field surveying and engineering projects this summer. Assignments may include: assisting with MS-4 stormwater compliance, GPS locating of structures for incorporation into the Town's GIS Map, field surveying, storm drain outfall identification and monitoring, and assisting in data entry. Applicants must have a valid driver’s license. Experience with survey equipment, Microsoft Word, Excel and CAD or GIS software is desirable but not required.

Transportation and Water Resources Internships

Rockingham Planning Commission (RPC) is seeking two interns to assist with transportation and water resource planning projects in communities within the RPC region in southeastern New Hampshire. The interns’ primary roles will be assisting staff with fieldwork inventories and data analysis for RPC’s Road Surface Management System (RSMS) and Regional Stream Crossing Assessment (RSCA) projects. RPC’s RSMS project provides state agencies and municipalities within the region information on the road system’s condition and estimates for future maintenance costs. The main objective of this project is to identify distressed pavement manifestations such as cracking or rutting so that municipalities can look to prioritize maintenance to maximize their return on investment and road quality.
