The Amherst Board of Selectmen and the Town Administrator believe that the ideal candidate would have experience in the following nine areas; Strategic planning in theory and practice, successfully managing economic development planning and projects, overseeing GIS projects that recognize the spatial nature of local government activities, staff support to boards and committees, working with communities to develop thoughtful and actionable master plans, doing plan reviews, effective communication strategies, identification and preservation of historic resources, moving communities forward using effective and sustainable practices.

Transportation/Water Resources Intern

Rockingham Planning Commission (RPC) is seeking an intern to assist with transportation and water resource planning projects in communities within the RPC region in southeastern New Hampshire. The intern’s primary roles will be assisting staff with fieldwork inventories and data analysis for RPC’s Road Surface Management System (RSMS) and Regional Stream Crossing Assessment (RSCA) projects. Other duties will include assisting with GIS projects and other projects as needed. To the extent possible, assigned projects will be related to an intern’s areas of interest.

Senior Transportation Planner

The Southern New Hampshire Planning Commission (SNHPC) is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to complement our professional planning staff. The Senior Transportation Planner will work with the Commission’s staff, municipalities, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and federal and state partner agencies on long and short-range regional transportation planning, project development and management, and special transportation studies. The Senior Transportation Planner may supervise the work of other transportation planning staff and work closely with the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director on the development, maintenance, and administration of the SNHPC’s Unified Planning Work Program. Successful candidates must possess excellent communication skills, project development, management, and organizational skills. The ability to self-motivate as well as the ability to energize others on team projects are vital. Specifically, the position requires knowledge of transportation planning principles and practices, state and federal transportation planning regulations, and management.

Land Use & Community Development Administrator

The Town of Enfield, NH, is seeking to fill the reconstituted full time position of Land Use & Community Development Administrator to help our community continue to grow and thrive into the future. The Administrator will have a number of important and rewarding professional responsibilities. These include: facilitating review of and updates to the Town's master plan and other long-term community plans; assisting the Planning Board and Zoning Board of Adjustment in the administration, compliance, review, and interpretation of adopted codes and ordinances; ensuring that projects comply with all planning and zoning requirements; assisting and evaluating processes to citizens for both residential and commercial development; promoting the creation and implementation of economic development strategies (working in close coordination with the Town Manager, local land use boards, regional planning commission, chamber of commerce, relevant state and federal agencies, Grafton County, and other entities); actively courting community development opportunities and marketing the town for desirable business and residential development. The Administrator maintains a high level of communication with, and reports to, the Town Manager.

The town of Henniker has a highly responsible position available that reports directly to and assists the Town Administrator in all clerical, administrative, and secretarial tasks relating to the operation and supervision of the Selectmen’s Office and town departments, as well as coordinating activities and projects of the two land use boards and other department heads and committees. Maintains and develops the Town website and other communication efforts. Requires up to 29-hour per week. Competitive wages with prorated vacation and sick day benefits.
