Part-Time Regional Planner

The Rockingham Planning Commission (RPC) is seeking a part-time Regional Planner to join its tightly-knit, award-winning team. RPC is an association of 27 cities and towns in Rockingham County in southeastern New Hampshire and is one of nine Regional Planning Commissions (RPC) in New Hampshire enabled through state legislation (RSA 36:46).The Regional Planner will provide services directly to municipalities and land use boards and commissions including application and plan review, ordinance and regulation development, master plan preparation and work with other RPC staff on a variety of land use, transportation, economic development and environmental projects. Applicants must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable preparing and delivering public presentations. Availability to attend evening meetings is required.

Community and Economic Development Planner pdf file

The North Country Council Regional Planning Commission and Economic Development District is looking to fill the position of Community & Economic Development Planner. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Community & Economic Development Planner will provide professional, technical and administrative support the Council’s community development work program. The Planner filling this position will be responsible for research, development, and implementation of plans, studies and recommendations pertaining to areas economic and community development, land use planning, comprehensive planning and environmental issues. The North Country Council provides assistance to over 50 communities in the northern third of New Hampshire in the areas of community, environmental, and transportation planning and economic development. The Associate Transportation Planner will primarily support the Council’s Transportation Work Program through assisting in the coordination of programs through communications, information gathering, research, report preparation, and written and personal communications. The North Country Council provides assistance to over 50 communities in the northern third of New Hampshire in the areas of community, environmental, and transportation planning and economic development. This position will provide the qualified candidate with the opportunity to gain valuable experience in environmental planning, transportation planning, and data collection, as well as support local, regional, statewide planning projects and initiatives. This position will primarily involve outdoor fieldwork with some office-based work at our office in the vibrant mountain town of Littleton, NH. The successful applicant will have the ability to work as a part of a team of professionals, follow directions, complete tasks on time, and interact with the public in a professional manner. Fieldwork is a primary component of this position, and the applicant must be comfortable working as part of a two person field team in rural outdoor environments under a variety of weather conditions.
