Planning & Zoning Director/Special Projects Coordinator

The City of Franklin seeks a dynamic, resourceful, and experienced Planning & Zoning Director and Special Projects Coordinator. This is a full-time, department head position, working under the City Manager, responsible for supervising, directing, and managing all administrative and technical aspects of the City’s Planning & Zoning department. The Director performs multiple tasks including: reviews all applications to the Planning and Zoning Boards, as well as the Heritage Commission, and works with owners, applicants, and consultants during the hearing process; drafts memos and decisions for all projects; enforcement of the Zoning Ordinance; seeks and administers grants under the state and federal Brownfields program; and coordinates the GIS mapping services for the City to name a few responsibilities. The Director is also a key member of the City’s economic development team.

The Upper Valley Lake Sunapee Regional Planning Commission (UVLSRPC) is seeking a temporary, entry-level Associate GIS Analyst/Associate Planner to complement our professional planning staff. Field Data Collection Intern

The Nashua Regional Planning Commission seeks a summer intern to join its award-winning team from approximately May to September. This is a full-time temporary paid position, the duties of which primarily consist of GPS and GIS mobile field data collection. The majority of time (approximately 80%) will be spent on road surface condition assessment, with the remainder (approximately 20%) for economic conditions assessment of the region’s major commercial corridors and high-potential developable areas. Occasional in-office data processing tasks are also anticipated. This position is ideal for an undergraduate student with an affinity for technology and career interest in GIS to support regional planning and local government.

The City of Portsmouth, NH is seeking an individual to perform administrative and planning functions for the City's Planning department. The position requires examining, analyzing and evaluating facts and circumstances surrounding each application for land use and development, and determining compliance with Zoning Ordinances and applicable state and federal laws. Incumbent is required to work outside of normal business hours up to three nights per month, year round and weekly, prior to and after normal business hours, in order to attend meetings.

The Data Analyst supports planning activities focused on using technology and data to inform regional and statewide decision-makers. The Data Analyst provides technical expertise to staff, SNHPC Commissioners, agency representatives, and other stakeholders through services such as data collection and analysis, performance measure target setting, database development and management, travel demand model support, and report writing. The individual filling this position not only collaborates with SNHPC staff but also works closely with stakeholders and staff from other planning agencies from the SNHPC region and others across the state, including Regional Planning Commissions, Metropolitan Planning Organizations, the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, and the Federal Highway Administration, among others.
