Assistant Planning Director

The Town of Bedford is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Planning Director. The Assistant Planning Director provides professional support to the Planning Board and Historic District Commission. The ideal candidate will have strong customer service skills, knowledge in the theory and practice of land use planning and zoning, experience reviewing site plans and subdivisions and the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. The Assistant Planning Director also works on long-range planning projects, including preparation of the town Master Plan.

Milford, the hub of the Souhegan Valley, has an immediate opening for a full-time qualified and creative Town Planner/MS4 Coordinator. This position will be responsible for land-use planning and environmental programs on behalf of the Office of Community Development. The position reports to the Director of Community Development, and is part of a progressive team that includes community development, building and code enforcement, environmental programs, and conservation. The creative Town Planner / MS4 Coordinator prepares and writes documents relative to short-term and long-range planning regulations, codes, and policies; attends and participates at meetings. The position is also responsible for the management, organized planning, and mobilization of efforts in compliance with the Town's Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permit program.
