State Energy Strategy (SB191)

Senate Bill 191 (2013) directs the Office of Energy & Planning, in coordination with a newly formed Energy Advisory Council, to develop an energy strategy for New Hampshire. The process began in the fall of 2013 and will conclude in September 2014. This page will be updated throughout.

In addition to posting important updates on this page, OEP will send announcements to interested parties via email. To be added to the email distribution list, please send an email to oepinfo@nh.gov with the subject line "SB191 (Energy Strategy) Email List." To submit comments on the strategy, please send an email to Brandy.Chambers@nh.gov.

Energy Advisory Council

The members of the Council, as established in RSA 4-E:2, are

  • Director of the Office of Energy and Planning Meredith Hatfield
  • Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Services Tom Burack
  • Chair of the Public Utilities Commission Amy Ignatius
  • Representative Charles Townsend
  • Representative Herbert Vadney
  • Representative Beatriz Pastor
  • Senator Martha Fuller Clark
  • Senator Bob Odell

OEP and the Council will be assisted throughout the process by Navigant Consulting.


The next meeting of the Advisory Council is scheduled for April 11 at 1:30pm at the Legislative Office Building. Meetings are open to the public. Notes from all meetings will be posted in the "Council Documents" section.
