> Ongoing Library Book Sales

Many New Hampshire libraries hold book sales on specific days during the year. The libraries listed on this page have ongoing sales, some are instead of and others are in addition to a scheduled sale. [updated Spring 2022].

The Barrington Public Library has a running book sale during all library open hours (M&F 10-6, T&Th 10-7, W 10-8, and Sat 10-3) Lots of books available for purchase on a donation basis.

Chesley Memorial Library has an ongoing book sale in their front hallway.

The Chester Public Library has an ongoing book sale accessible every day the library is open. Hours are Monday & Wednesday 3-8; Tuesday & Thursday 10-8; Friday 1-5; and Saturday 10-2.

The Chichester Town Library has a permanent used book store in the basement of the library. The Down Under Book Store is open when the library is open. Our hours are Mon. Wed. 2:30-8:30, Tues. Thurs. 10:00-1:30, Fri. 1:30-4:30 and Sat. 9-12. Hardcover books are 50 cents, trade paperbacks and children's books are 25 cents. We also sell some higher priced vintage books.

The Friends of the Derry Public Libraries holds a monthly book sale at the Derry Public Library on the second Saturday of the month from 9:30am-12:30pm. There is an annual Super Book Sale held at Derryfest in September. Check the library’s website for details: www.derrypl.org or call 603-432-6140.

The Dover Public Library (73 Locust Street, Dover, NH 03820) has a year-round book sale going on during all of its open hours.

The Friends of the East Kingston Public Library have a book shop located at 41 Depot Road (the site of the old town library) in East Kingston. They are open on Fridays from 10am-5pm and Saturdays from 10am-1pm. They have some library discards, but the majority of the books are donated by people in the community. You never know what you might find! You can contact the Book Shop directly during open business hours at (603)642-5744.

Frost Free Library Friends Ongoing Book Sale, 28 Jaffrey Road, Marlborough, NH. Hours:Tuesday and Wednesday 1-7 pm; Thursday and Friday 10–5 pm; Saturday 10–1 pm. Lots of quality books at priced to sell prices! Call the library: 876.4479 for more information.

Fuller Public Library has an ongoing book sale in our Book Nook. Hardcovers, puzzles, dvds and music cds are $1, paperbacks $.50. Shoppers can find all kinds of other interesting items such as dish sets, cups and saucers, and more! [updated 4-8-21]

For the last nine years, the ongoing Gilman Library Book Sale is "By Donation, Suggested Donation: Fill a Bag of Books for $1.00." For the last three years, The Friends of the Gilman Library have held a separate ongoing Friends Corner Book Sale: Hardcovers: $1.00, Paperbacks: $0.50, All DVDs: $1.00, crafts, knick-knacks, and seasonal decor: price as marked.

The Goodwin Library has an ongoing book sale year round. Adult Hardcovers, Audio books & Videos are $1.00, Paperbacks are .50 or 3/$1.00 and magazines are FREE. Children's books & videos are .50 or 3/$1.00. The address is 422 Main Street, Farmington, NH 03835. Phone is (603) 755-2944.

When the Harvey-Mitchell Memorial Library is open they have an ongoing book sale in a storage room. Hours are Tues-Fri 10am-8pm; Sat 10am-2pm.

Holderness Free Library has an ongoing booksale which is always at the Holderness Library (866 US Rt 3, Holderness NH) 603-968-7066. [updated 4-6-21]

The Howe Library in Hanover has an ongoing book sale with lots of gently used books. All items are “name your price” by donation.

Ingalls Memorial Library in Rindge has a small ongoing book sale throughout the year at the lower level main entrance during regular library hours.

Jaffrey Public Library has an ongoing Friends of the Library book sale operating on two floors -- the Main Floor lobby and the Ground Floor during regular library hours.

James A. Tuttle Library has a small ongoing book sale. Library hours: Mon. & Wed. 2-6pm; Tues. & Thurs. 2-8pm; Fri. 9am - noon; Sat. 10am-4pm.

Kingston Community Library has an ongoing book sale which is open during library hours and is run by the Friends

Langdon Public Library (Newington, NH) has an ongoing book sale.

Friends of Madison Library hold a monthly book sale on the third Saturday of each month, from 9 am to noon in the John F. Chick Meeting Room at the Madison Library, 1895 Village Road, Madison, NH. For more information, call the Madison Library at 367-8545.

Ongoingbook sale at the Nashua Public Library. 2 Court Street, Nashua, NH 03060. The NPL Friends offer an ongoing mini book saleof about 800 booksat our Booktique on the main floor of the library. You will find selections from all our categories, including recently published books. Inventory is refreshed twice a week. Hardcover $2, trade $1, children’s 25 cents to $1; some specially priced items. Cash only.

The Pease Public Library in continually has a small supply of books for sale at the library.

The Pembroke Town Library has a ongoing book sale during Library hours. Paperbacks are $0.50, Hardcovers are $1.00, and DVDs/cds are $1.00. For Library hours, call 603-485-7851.

The Friends of the Peterborough Town Library Used Book Store is open from April through mid-November; Thurs-Fri 10-4, Saturday 10-3. It is located in the Kyes-Sage House at 14 Concord St., Peterborough, next door to the library. Contact FriendsofPeterboroughLibrary@gmail.com for more information.

Philbrick-James Library in Deerfield has an ongoing book sale in the front hall of the library. They re-stock the shelves as books are sold. Call Anne Meyers at 463-7187 for directions or visit philbrickjameslibrary.org.

Plaistow Public Library has an ongoing book sale: Hardcovers ($1.00), paperbacks ($.50), bargain books and children's books are also for sale.

The Pope Memorial Library has a book sale of new and popular books year round in their lobby. They are located at 2719 Main Street in North Conway.

The Friends of the Library of Hudson, NH hold “Second Hand Prose,” a gently used book sale open 11am-3pm on the second Sunday of the month in the lower level of the former Hills Memorial Library Building at 18 Library Street, Hudson. Please enter via the ramp at the rear of the building. Hardcovers are $2 and paperbacks $1. Books, CDs, DVDs for all ages are priced $2.00 or less. Proceeds benefit the Rodgers Memorial Library.

Friends of the STEPHENSON MEMORIAL LIBRARY OF GREENFIELD, NH offer an ongoing booksale Wednesday evenings 7-8 and during the school year on Saturdays from 10-1 A small selection of titles are available at the entry during library hours. (M, 12-8 W, 10:30 -8 and Fri 10:30 - 5)

Webster Free Public Library has an ongoing book sale of approximately 8 shelves of books and a few A/V materials. Paperbacks are $0.25; everything else is $0.50. The booksale is available during the library's open hours: Sundays Noon-4 PM; Mondays 1-8 PM; Wednesdays 9 AM-8 PM. Call 603-648-2706 for directions.

Westmoreland Public Library has an ongoing booksale table at the Westmorland Town Hall, which is open Monday - Wednesday 8am-5pm & Thursday 8am-7pm.
