Hours & Access
The New Hampshire State Library is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm in accordance with the Governor's
Universal Best Practices. Social distancing and masks are strongly
encouraged, and masks are available at the entrance to the building.
Appointments are available for those who want to have a scheduled appointment
time for their research or would like to reserve a computer or microfilm
machine. Call 603-271-2144 or contact us through our Ask a Librarian page to schedule an
appointment. Meeting rooms are NOT available yet to outside groups.
The State Library is closed on Legal Holidays. Handicapped access is available at the side entrance by calling 603-271-2144.
Driving North on Interstate 93
Take Exit 14. Turn left at end of ramp. Go through three sets of lights. Turn left at the next set of lights onto North Main Street. Take your first right onto Park Street, the New Hampshire State Library is located on the right at the corner of North State and Park Streets.
Driving South on Interstate 93
Take Exit 14. Turn right at end of ramp. Go through one set of lights. Turn left at the next set of lights onto North Main Street. Take your first right onto Park Street, the New Hampshire State Library is located on the right at the corner of North State and Park Streets.
Metered parking is on the street or in municipal parking garages. To park in a garage, turn left onto North State Street. Go through two sets of lights. The first parking garage will be on the right just before the YMCA. Turn left at the next set of lights (Warren Street -- one way only) and the other parking garage is on the left.
Handicapped parking: In accordance with RSA 261:88, any motor vehicle carrying the special plates or hanging windshield placard issued to a person with a walking disability may park for free in any legal parking spot.
