Resident Missing from Concord Transitional Housing Unit
(Concord NH) A work release resident of the North End Transitional Housing Unit walked away from the Community Corrections facility in Concord on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. John Robert Griffin, 57, formerly of Manchester, New Hampshire, left the facility at 9:00 am to look for employment and failed to return at the scheduled time. He was placed on escape status at 2:00 pm.
Griffin is described as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 185 pounds, with gray hair and blue eyes.
He was sentenced in Hillsborough County Superior Court South to a sentence of 3 years minimum to 6 years maximum with 6 months of his minimum suspended for Theft by Unauthorized Taking. There werde 723 days of time served credited to his sentence. He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison on September 3, 2015 and was paroled on March 7, 2016. He returned on a technical parole violation on June 1, 2016 and had yet to return to parole. His maximum release date is September 8, 2019.
The New Hampshire State Police and the New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Unit are investigating. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should contact their local law enforcement authority or the New Hampshire State Police.
Escape is a Class B felony punishable by up to 3 ½ - 7 years in prison.
