Minimum Security Inmate Placed on Escape Status

(Manchester, N.H.) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that a minimum security inmate from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester was placed on escape status. Eugene Lee Person, 44, walked away from the Calumet House Saturday, September 30, 2017 between 8:15 and 9:15 p.m.

Person is described as a black male, 69 inches tall, 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He has a heart shaped tattoo on his left shoulder.

Person was sentenced in Hillsborough Superior Court on August 5, 2015 to a 1 year, 9 month to 4 year sentence for Simple Assault. He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison on August 5, 2015. His maximum release date is August 2, 2019.

The New Hampshire State Police and the New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau are investigating. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is urged to contact their local law enforcement agency or the New Hampshire State Prison at 603-271-1801.
