Inmate Missing from Manchester Transitional Housing Unit

(Manchester, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that a minimum security inmate walked away from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester on Thursday July 23, 2015. Bruno Joseph Martin, 41, with a last known residence of Salem, New Hampshire, left the facility Thursday morning to go to work and failed to return at his scheduled time of 10:00 pm. He was placed on escape status shortly before midnight.

Martin is described as a white male, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 225 pounds, with brown hair and hazel eyes. He has tattoos on his back, right forearm, left wrist, left arm, and right arm.

He was sentenced in Rockingham County Superior Court to 2 to 4 years for burglary with 169 days of time served credited to his sentence. He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison June 8, 2014 and was eligible for parole December 21, 2015. His sentence will end December 20, 2017. A walkaway is considered an escape and an escape conviction is a Class B felony punishable by 3 ½ - 7 years in prison.

The Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating. Anyone with information on this inmate’s whereabouts should contact their local law enforcement agency or the New Hampshire State Prison at 603-271-1801.
