Minimum Security Inmate Missing from Manchester Transitional Housing Unit

(Manchester, NH) The New Hampshire Department of Corrections announces that a resident from the Calumet Transitional Housing Unit in Manchester has been placed on walk away status. On Wednesday, June 24, 2015, Richard Robert Fortier, 26, of Keene, New Hampshire left the facility at 6:45 am to go to work. He did not show up. He was placed on walk away status at approximately 12:30 pm.

Fortier is described as a white male, 5 foot 8 inches tall, 170 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He has tattoos on his left arm and right arm.

Fortier was sentenced in Merrimack County Superior Court to 2 to 4 years for Reckless Conduct. He received 93 days of time served credited to his sentence. He was admitted to the New Hampshire State Prison on January 10, 2014 and is eligible for parole on October 8, 2015. His maximum release date is October 7, 2017.

The New Hampshire Department of Corrections Investigations Bureau and the New Hampshire State Police are investigating. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call their local law enforcement agency or the New Hampshire State Prison at 603-271-1801.
