Department of Corrections Presents Special Citation Bars
(Berlin, NH) New Hampshire Department of Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn presented special citation bars of recognition to two officers at the Northern New Hampshire Correctional Facility for their actions that saved the life of an inmate.
Corrections Officer Michael Eaton was awarded the Department of Corrections Life Saving citation bar and Corrections Officer Adam Bilodeau was presented with the Department of Corrections Team Commendation bar.
On November 12, 2014 an inmate was found slumped over in his cell with what appeared to be a torn sheet around his neck. The two officers cut the sheet from his neck preventing serious harm or possibly death.
Commissioner Wrenn said, “These officers provide the staff, the offender population, and the public with the confidence that our prisons are operated safely and effectively,” Commissioner Wrenn said.
The Department of Corrections awards five special medals and citation bars for staff that go above and beyond the call of the duty. Those are the Medal of Honor, The Life Saving citation bar, the Honorable Service bar, the Line of Duty bar, and the Team Commendation bar.
