Inmates to Participate in Making Strides for Breast Cancer Walk
(Goffstown, NH) Female Offenders at the New Hampshire State Prison for Women in Goffstown participate in the annual American Cancer Society’s “Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” walk in the prison’s recreational yard on Thursday, October 9, 2014. The inmates will walk around the yard 34 times, which is the equivalent of five miles. In the past 70 to 80 inmates have walked in the fundraiser. It begins at 1:00 pm.
This is the eighth year in a row the inmates have participated in this event. Several DOC employees are volunteering to help organize the event and are expected to join the event. In 2013 the inmates raised $317.00 for breast cancer research.
The annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is a non-competitive walk to help fight breast cancer and give hope to those facing the disease.
